The site was developer in ASP .Net, utilizing the BlogEngine.Net blogging engine. I chose this as it was the best ASP .Net framework I could find out there. Being a .Net developer this gives me heaps of power to change the website to just as I want it. The theme is a modifies theme of the Arthemia for BlogEngine.
