I use TotalValidator as a firefox extension for developing large websites (and ALWAYS with government sites) and using it on my own site is the first thing I'm doing now that I've registered my site in the wild. This is easily my most valuable firefox developer extension, probably tie with firebug. It validates your site against W3C standards and displays a report with all your page errors, it also gives tips on best practices when designing your site.
After running TotalValidator I had a whopping 41 issues. Yikes. 8 Of those were spelling mistakes, of wich i'm ashamed. Blogengine doesnt come with built in spell checker and I assumed firfox would take care of the inline spell checking. Apparently not. I'm moving to scribefire soon and this should solve the problem.
For now, I plan on fixing the errors reported by TotalValidator. It will be interesting to see what affects this will have on rankings.
